I like Brightkite and would like a reason to use it more, so I'm interested to see what the team there have in the pipeline. Some kind of Integration with Posterous would be nice while they are at it.

Brightkite and Layar augmented reality

This is what will make me make the jump to an iPhone 3GS or a next generation Android device.

I love Brightkite and used it a lot when I took a months long Twitter break (I'm hoping Posterous will plug in to Brightkite as soon a possible so I can start using it again).

Twitter is not the answer to the many questions asked about presence, microblogging and mobile media applications, it is just the crude opening sentence.

I think applications like Brightkite already have much more to offer once a critical mass is achieved in both people and smart devices - and once users become less reticent and more comfortable about the idea of detailed location.

This kind of augmented reality will be a much richer Twitterlike experience and will take mobile media to another level again.

With this you can add to the question of 'what are you doing' with a 'what happened here'.
